Reducing Waste, Recycling Plastic: A Greener Future

“Plastic pollution is a global issue: killing wildlife, contaminating our oceans and waters, and lasting far longer than it is used.” – Leonardo DiCaprio.
At Superior Group of Industries, we are deeply committed to Coca-Cola’s global vision of a “World Without Waste.” As a responsible Coca-Cola bottler in India, we recognize the importance of addressing plastic waste and are taking significant steps to promote recycling, reduce plastic usage, and contribute to a circular economy. Our comprehensive plastic recycling initiatives are designed to minimize environmental impact and ensure that our packaging is collected, reused, and repurposed effectively.
Sustainable Packaging Solutions
“Refuse, reduce, recycle: Your three R’s for plastic elimination” We are continuously innovating to reduce the amount of plastic used in our packaging without compromising the quality or safety of our products. Through lightweighting, we have been able to reduce the plastic content in our bottles, which significantly lowers the demand for raw plastic materials. Additionally, we are actively exploring sustainable alternatives, such as recycled PET (rPET), to create packaging that is both durable and environmentally friendly.
PET Bottle Recycling
We use approved third party advanced plastic recycling vendors to process the PET bottles, one of the most widely used plastics in our packaging. Collected PET bottles are cleaned, shredded, and converted into high-quality rPET, which is then reused to manufacture new bottles and other packaging materials at the ratios approved by Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). This closed-loop recycling process reduces the demand for virgin plastic, conserves natural resources, and minimizes plastic waste entering the environment.
Reducing Environmental Impact
By increasing the use of recycled materials in our packaging and supporting large-scale recycling efforts, we are significantly reducing the environmental impact of our operations. These efforts not only lower greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption associated with plastic production but also help prevent plastic pollution in landfills, rivers, and oceans.
Looking Ahead
Our commitment to plastic recycling is part of our broader sustainability strategy, which includes long-term goals such as achieving 100% recyclability for all packaging and ensuring that more packaging is recovered than produced. We are constantly exploring new technologies and innovations to enhance our recycling capabilities and reduce our reliance on single-use plastics.
We are proud to be part of the solution to the global plastic waste challenge. By promoting plastic recycling and advancing sustainable packaging, we are helping to protect the environment, conserve resources, and build a better, more sustainable future for generations to come.
